Fasting is a natural form of human life. The organism is able to exist through internal nutrition and self-regulation. It affects the whole person, each of its many trillions of cells. There are different forms of fasting. When fasting according to the Buchinger method, we do without solid food and only consume a few calories a day through liquid food. With 16/8 intermittent fasting with a predominantly alkaline and 100% vegetarian diet, we also consume solid food, but only for 8 hours a day and no more than around 1000 calories a day. During the night, the entire digestive system can recover and autophagy (cell renewal) sets in.

Regular and measured exercise during fasting prevents muscle loss, and endurance training keeps our cardiovascular system going.

Yoga offers various ways to keep our bodies fit and our minds clear and balanced. The three main ones are physical exercises (asanas), breathing control (pranayama) and meditation. It is about perceiving our body and mind consciously and as a whole. I would like to use the example of a clay pot. This is first shaped. But in order to make it robust, resilient, durable and receptive, it must be fired. And that is exactly what we do with yoga in a figurative sense. The strengthened body is the prerequisite for you to then be able to calm down and also calm your mind through special breathing techniques. Regular practice helps you to achieve this goal. I find this idea very inspiring.
